Photo Gallery: Doors of Tallinn

When I’m traveling solo, and especially when I’m wandering through a new city, sometimes I like to give myself little photography challenges. It’s a way of getting myself to pay attention to the details and turning a quiet walk into a kind of treasure hunt. A challenge might be capturing every piece of street art, every cat I cross paths with, or – in the case of the Old Town of Tallinn, Estonia – every beautiful door.
Tallinn’s Historic Center is full of color and character, and the doors are just as varied – ornate, brightly painted, old, new, or barely hanging on. Here’s a gallery of my favorites.
